While this clip is cute, back pain and pain from inflammation that affects your daily life activities can be no laughing matter.
In Part 3 of Building a Strong Foundation Series I wanted to introduce some natural topical anti-inflammatories that you could look into to potentially help to reduce pain and inflammation.
So far, we have looked at how to effectively engage your core points to improve postural alignment, strengthen your core, and prevent back pain.
If you didn’t see the last two segments, check your junk or email me to resend. Want to see how to engage the core points again? CLICK HERE.

Part of building a strong foundation is assembling your tool box to help you deal with the pain and inflammation when it arises. Injury prevention is important but what can you do when you are actually experiencing pain without having to rely on harsh medications that could possibly irritate your gut lining, and be hard on your kidneys with chronic over use?
There are several natural topical anti-inflammatories that may be helpful. Remember to check with your doctor or health care professional beforehand, to make sure these do not interact with any health conditions or medications.**Please note this information is for educational purposes only and is not intended to be used or substituted for medical advice.
There are several natural topical anti-inflammatories that you can try, such as:
- Arnica: Known for reducing inflammation and pain.
- Turmeric: Contains curcumin, which has anti-inflammatory properties.
- Ginger: Can be used topically to reduce inflammation.
- Aloe Vera: Soothes inflamed skin and promotes healing.
- Chamomile: Has anti-inflammatory and calming effects on the skin.
- Green Tea.: Contains polyphenols that have anti-inflammatory properties.
- Magnesium. Magnesium Chloride is the most commonly used topically and has been used to help reduce inflammation.
Always patch test first and consult your healthcare professional if you have any concerns or medical conditions. Discontinue use immediately if you experience any rashes, hives, or other side effects.
Another one of my favourite topical anti- inflammatory products is castor oil. Castor oil is believed to have several benefits for inflammation due to its unique composition. Here are some potential benefits:
- Anti-inflammatory Properties: Ricinoleic acid, a main component of castor oil, has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects when applied topically. It may help reduce inflammation and pain associated with conditions like arthritis and muscle soreness.
- Moisturizing: Castor oil is a thick, rich oil that can help moisturize the skin. Properly hydrated skin is less prone to inflammation and irritation.
- Antioxidant Effects: Castor oil contains antioxidants that can help protect the skin from oxidative stress, which can contribute to inflammation.
- Wound Healing: Castor oil has been used traditionally to promote wound healing. By reducing inflammation and keeping the skin moisturized, it may help wounds heal more quickly.
- Improves Circulation: Massaging castor oil into the skin can help improve circulation, which can aid in reducing inflammation and promoting healing.
As with any natural remedy, individual results may vary, and it’s important to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice, especially if you have any underlying health conditions.
DO NOT INGEST Castor oil. It is recommended for topical use only.
Where can you buy Castor oil? It's found in most pharmaceutical and natural health stores. You can even order off of Amazon. I included the links to Shop my Favorites picks. For your convenience just click an order. CLICK HERE.
